Travel Surgical Tech Job Details Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Illinois travel healthcare job) Assignment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital – Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital Start Date: September 2, 2025 End Date: December 2, 2025 Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (08:45 – 19:15) Hours per Week: 40 Weekend Requirement: One weekend per month (16 hours total) On-Call: As needed for department Charting: Cerner EMR Scrub Color: Provided Parking: Permit required, no cost Estimated Weekly Salary: $1850 - $1890 Surgical Tech Qualifications Minimum 3 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience in a Level I Trauma Center Prior travel surgical tech experience required BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only) CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification preferred Experience in General OR, Teaching Hospital, and Trauma settings Proficient in ENT, Endoscopic, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Oral, Orthopedic, Plastic, Trauma, Urology, and Emergency Management procedures Skilled with specialized equipment: Xi Robot, Mazor Robot, Rosa Robot, microscopes, drills, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords Ability to float within scope of practice as needed Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (travel healthcare requirement) Must arrive in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting (if no state license required) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Surgical Technologist Responsibilities Assist surgeons and the operating room team in a wide range of surgical procedures, including trauma, neuro, ortho, general, ENT, plastics, and urology Prepare and maintain a sterile field following aseptic technique and universal protocols Operate and maintain advanced surgical equipment and instruments Float to other hospital units within scope of practice as needed Participate in emergency management and fire safety protocols Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and documentation Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care Comply with all hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Apply now to join our expert surgical team in Springfield, IL, and take the next step in your travel healthcare career!
