Preschool Assistant Teacher

Loyola University Preschool is seeking an Assistant Teacher. We are a private play-based center on the Loyola Lakeshore Campus in Rogers Park serving faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. We are committed to best practices in early childhood and strive to meet children's individual needs through low ratios and intentional structures. Our center is unique in its approach and require a high level of knowledge and execution from our full-time staff. The center is supported by Loyola University students who provide teacher aid support to each teaching team. Our enrolled families reflect the diversity of our neighborhood and together form a kind group of engaged parents who enjoy coming together for potlucks and parent events.

Position Schedule Details:

Assistant Teachers may support 1 room or may be a floating Assistant Teacher to our 3 classrooms. The hours for this position are 9am-5:30pm Monday – Friday, and 8:30am-4:30pm on professional development days. All staff members work 37.5 hours per week (8.5 hour day with a 1hr lunch break) and have vacation, sick, and personal days, which are covered by our floater teacher. The Preschool is open year-round and has monthly in-service days throughout the year for trainings, staff meetings, and classroom prep time.

• Do you have college coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development that meets the DCFS requirements for an Early Childhood Teacher (minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours )?
• Are you able to reliably commute year round to Rogers Park on the North Side of Chicago for a shift from 9am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday?
