Teamwork Englewood (TWE) Teamwork Englewood is a community-based organization that provides programming and planning for Englewood residents. The organization’s mission is to improve the Quality of life of the residents and stakeholders of Englewood by facilitating economic, educational, and social opportunities. The Englewood Quality of Life Initiative is a significant program for the organization. The residents and stakeholders created this plan to address essential Quality of Life issues in the community. This includes strategies and initiatives around 1) Education and Youth Development, 2) Workforce and Economic Development, 3) Housing and Local Population Preservation, 4) Health and Wellness, and 5) Enhance Public Safety. TWE works with residents and partners to implement critical—planning and programming through the EQLI framework and priorities.
About TIME 21:36:
TIME 21:36 (This Is My Englewood) is a community-driven public safety initiative within Teamwork Englewood, focused on reducing violence and strengthening neighborhood spaces in Englewood. Through trauma-informed community building, public space activation, and resident leadership, we are addressing the root causes of violence while advancing the Englewood Quality of Life Plan.
Position Summary:
Teamwork Englewood is seeking a hands-on, dependable, and community-focused Community Safety Ambassador (Lead) to support public safety events, manage activation sites, and engage residents.

Key Responsibilities
- Event Setup & Breakdown: Lead the physical setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, tents, sports equipment, signage, and activation materials. Ensure all equipment is stored properly after each event.
- On-Site Event Management: Support smooth event flow by assisting vendors with placement, managing deliveries, coordinating food distribution, and maintaining organized activation zones.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Serve as the on-site point of contact for vendors and landscaping contractors. Monitor performance to ensure services are delivered on time and according to expectations.
- Public Space Oversight: Help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments at Pop Court, the 63rd & Halsted lot, and other activation sites. Report safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to residents about TIME 21:36 initiatives. Encourage participation in events and leadership opportunities and build positive relationships with community members.
- Leadership & Representation: Model professionalism and accountability. Provide direction to volunteers or fellow ambassadors when needed and represent TIME 21:36 in a positive, community-centered manner.
- Basic Documentation & Reporting: Assist with simple record-keeping related to events, vendors, outreach efforts, and contractor oversight.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong communication and community engagement skills
- Reliable transportation with valid insurance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to consistently work the set required work schedule of Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Fridays, 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. , including required bi-weekly activation events
- Experience in community organizing, event coordination, public safety, or vendor oversight is a plus but not required.
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour; 1 hour of sick time and PTO for every 35 hours worked after required probationary periods.
Work Location & Schedule (Required):
This part-time position is mostly based at the Peace House office located at 6402 S. Honore Street, Chicago, IL 60636 in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. However, Teamwork Englewood’s main office is located at 815 W. 63rd Street, Chicago, IL 60621. Applicants must commit to a maximum of 25 hours a week for the duration of the one-year contract.
The required schedule is Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Fridays, 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. , including required bi-weekly activation events. Flexibility is needed for outreach and other community events held some evenings and weekends.
Bi-weekly on Fridays, TIME 21:36 hosts large public space activations.
· These events require the Community Safety Ambassador (Lead) to:
o Be present for the entire duration of the event
o Lead full setup and breakdown
o Coordinate vendors and supplies
o Support crowd engagement and site safety
· Attendance at these bi-weekly activations is mandatory and a core responsibility of this role.
