Our portfolio focus is low-rise non-residential projects and we’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable / Controller to join our team and help drive our financial operations with precision and efficiency.

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable / Controller will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of our company. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, experienced in construction accounting, and comfortable working in a dynamic, small-business environment. You’ll be responsible for A/P, job costing, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate accounting records across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including vendor invoicing, coding, and payments
• Oversee job costing and ensure accuracy in budget tracking
• Generate financial reports, including profit/loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts
• Maintain general ledger and prepare month-end and year-end close
• Support payroll processing and employee expense reporting
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, licenses, and insurance requirements
• Work closely with project managers to monitor budgets and project financials
• Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (construction industry experience highly preferred)
• Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Strong understanding of job costing and AP processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
