Network engineer

Job Description

What You'll Do

• Design and implement QoS policies (CBWFQ, LLQ, NBAR, WRED, Auto-QoS).

• Monitor and optimize network traffic for performance and reliability.

• Configure Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (Nexus 1000v, ASA 1000v, CSR 1000v).

• Support managed services using ServiceNow and ScienceLogic.

• Collaborate with cloud teams (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure QoS in hybrid environments.

• Automate provisioning and monitoring with Python, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus.

• Conduct IOS upgrades and validate QoS configurations.

• Document network designs and troubleshooting procedures.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years in network engineering with a focus on QoS.

• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking (VLANs, EtherChannel, OSPF, BGP, MPLS).

• Hands-on experience with Cisco platforms and SD-WAN (Viptela, DMVPN).

• Familiarity with cloud networking and automation tools.

• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Bonus Points For

• CCNA or higher certification.

• Experience in large data center environments.

• ITIL Foundations Certification.

• Knowledge of Wireshark, NetFlow, Splunk.

• Experience optimizing voice/video QoS over Wi-Fi.
