Plumbing Assistant

Rate of Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour (paid weekly).

Overtime Rate: $27.00 to $28.50 per hour.

• Monday thru Friday; 7:00am to 3:30pm.
• Overtime always available; paid breaks.

JOB SUMMARY: MAAC Machinery has an opening for a Plumbing Assistant. The primary tasks involve assisting with plumbing component builds and installation as they pertain to our machinery. Role to be overseen and trained by seasoned Lead Plumber. • Cut, thread, and fit pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to machine structure and tanks using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe runs using a pressure gauge.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Assist Lead in planning pipe system layout and installation according to specifications.
• Meet machine schedules.
• Operate equipment and machinery such as forklifts and power tools in a safe manner.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency in mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32”.
• Prior plumbing or piping experience beneficial but not required.
• Bilingual applicants encouraged (English + Spanish).
