Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Technician to setup and operate 300-ton Arburg injection mold machines. The ideal candidate will adjust and monitor pressure, feed rates, and temperatures, while performing quality inspections for flash, shorts, and deformations. This role is critical in meeting On-Time Completion, Quality, and Cost Targets associated with new injection mold machine setup and operation.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate injection mold machines.
- Adjust and monitor machine settings including pressure, feed rates, and temperatures.
- Perform quality inspections for defects such as flash, shorts, and deformations.
- Create procedures, work instructions, and protocols as required.
- Improve productivity and reduce scrap/reject rates through automation, tool/process improvements, effective training, and process enhancements.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience operating or setting up plastic injection mold machines.
- 5+ years of experience changing molds and setting up feed, pressure, and temperature.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting process issues such as shorts, flashes, and discoloration.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and various poly's.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificates in robotics, automation, or injection molding processing preferred.
- Experience with Arburg brand machinery is a plus.
- Forklift and crane certification preferred.

Work Environment
This position is open on the 2nd shift from 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Candidates must be comfortable working on the 1st shift from 7:00am - 3:30pm for 2-3 months during initial training. The work setting fosters a fast-paced, team-driven, lean systems environment with a focus on daily challenges and innovation.
This position pays between $24 - $34 hourly depending on experience.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
