ICU Nurse Job Details Employment Type: Permanent, Direct Hire Location: Peoria, IL 61605 (Illinois healthcare jobs) Unit: High Acuity ICU Shifts: Two 3rd shift (overnight) positions, one 1st shift (day) position, and one PRN (24 hours/week) available Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (Full Time) Salary Range: $36.23 - $53.02 per hour (based on experience) Estimated Weekly Salary: $2040 - $2310 per week Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for new grads; $20,000 for RNs with 1+ years of ICU experience Shift Differentials: 3rd shift: +$4.00/hr, Weekend: +$3.25/hr Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or eligibility (Illinois nursing jobs) Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required) ACLS certification (preferred) At least 1 year of ICU nursing experience preferred; new graduate nurses considered High School Diploma or GED required; BSN preferred Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft applications preferred Ability to float to Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) units as needed Must pass a drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation Serve as a patient advocate and supervise nursing care provided by other healthcare professionals Develop and update individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in the electronic medical record Respond to changes in patient condition, including cardiac and respiratory emergencies Administer medications and treatments according to ICU protocols and best practices Assist physicians with ICU procedures and tests (e.g., thoracentesis, arterial lines, bronchoscopy) Educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic healthcare environment Participate in orientation and mentoring of new nursing staff; attend required training and staff meetings Apply now to join our healthcare team in Peoria, Illinois and make a difference in critical care nursing!
