Registered Nurse
Our client, a Level 1 trauma center in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join their critical care team. The hospital is a 900-bed academic medical center with Magnet designation and a reputation for clinical excellence.
This position is night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week. You'll care for critically ill patients including post-surgical, trauma, and medical ICU cases. The unit maintains a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and uses Epic for charting. The hospital offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and has an internal float pool if you want to pick up extra shifts.Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill adults in a 24-bed ICU
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data from arterial lines and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Administer medications including vasoactive drips and sedation
- Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists on care plans
- Respond to rapid responses and code blues throughout the hospital
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in Epic
- Precept new graduate nurses and nursing students
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license or compact state license
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience in an acute care setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and continuous renal replacement therapy
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work night shift (7pm-7am)
