CAD SolidWorks NX Designer Needed for Fermi National Laboratory

Our client, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, located in Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago, is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. The experienced designer will operate under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard.

Work hours: 8 hour work short between 7am – 5pm.

Project Length: One (1) year. Project can be extended.

Worksite Location: Batavia, IL

Worksite is a federal facility. An unexpired REAL ID or Unexpired USA passport is REQUIRED to enter the Fermi site.

Main Responsibilities:

· Design tolerance and stack up calculations, layout designs, detailing, advanced level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for the project.

· Use Design/Drafting procedures to complete work that meets project schedules & requirements. Specify and select design components and materials.

· 3D models and 2D drawings are completed in SolidWorks, managed in Windchill, NX and Team Center.

· Work directly with the engineering staff working on the projects to research and analyze design solutions and coordinate design development.

· Ensure designs and drawings are accurate and completed promptly according to the assigned tasks.

· Quality Assurance: Performed in accordance with Fermilab QAM and APS-TD and Design/Drafting Procedures. All work will be reviewed & approved by designated Fermilab staff.

Skills & Experience Required:

· Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in SolidWorks/NX during a video interview on ZOOM.

· Minimum of a 5 years of experience as designer.

· Will deliver quality work products on deadline-driven projects.
