Manager - Operations Accounting

LaSalle Network has partnered with a Deerfield-based CPG organization to identify a Manager, Operations Accounting . Reporting to the Director, Operations Accounting , this leader will manage a team of Senior Operations Accountants and Operations Accountants and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting across operational activities.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can own the close, strengthen controls, elevate team performance, and partner cross-functionally to deliver clear operational financial insights.

Compensation: Up to $140,000 base (commensurate with experience)
Work model: Hybrid — 3 days/week in the office
Location: Deerfield, IL

What you’ll do

• Lead and develop the operations accounting team (coaching, feedback, performance management)
• Own the month-end close for operations-related accounts, including inventory, COGS, manufacturing variances, distribution, transportation , and related accruals (GAAP + company policy compliance)
• Review/approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations , ensuring accuracy and documentation
• Monitor the inventory cycle count program and partner with plant managers to drive compliance and resolve exceptions
• Analyze/report operational results and trends; translate drivers into actionable insights for leaders and business partners
• Partner across operations, supply chain, and finance to support decision-making and efficiency initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and internal controls
• Prepare/review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules; support audits and examinations

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
• CPA highly preferred
• Large public company experience (required)
• Manufacturing / CPG / Food & Beverage industry experience (highly preferred)
• People leadership experience with a track record of developing talent
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Proven process improvement experience within accounting/finance
• Strong Excel skills + experience with large ERP systems
• Cost accounting/manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and a business-partner mindset
