Hours: 37.5 hours/week | 5 days/week | 7.5 hours/day
Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce images of the human body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves preparing patients, ensuring radiation safety, maintaining imaging equipment, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:Establish rapport with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
Explain procedures and respond to patient questions
Position patients and equipment appropriately for optimal imaging
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including shielding and exposure control
Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Process and evaluate radiographs for quality assurance
Chart completed exams and maintain accurate patient records
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report malfunctions
Monitor and manage radiology supply inventory
Meet CME requirements and participate in professional development activities
Demonstrate age-specific competency annually
Support team efforts and complete additional duties as assigned
Minimum of 2 years of diagnostic imaging experience
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.) or temporary permit under Section 3505 of the Public Health Law
ARRT Certified
Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent
Strong clinical competency in diagnostic imaging procedures
Effective communication and collaboration skills
