• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Oncology/Hematology Clinic
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-hour days (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2120 - $2180
• Floating: Mandatory float within 50 miles as needed
• Parking: $2/day with shuttle service available
• Scrub Color: Any solid color

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient oncology nursing experience
• BLS certification (required)
• ONS/ONCC oncology nursing certification highly preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR/charting system required
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no COVID exemptions; flu exemptions for medical/religious reasons only)
• Must reside within 75 miles of the Chicago facility (local candidates only)

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult oncology and hematology patients in an outpatient clinic
• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion pumps
• Monitor and manage side effects of chemotherapy, including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and extravasation
• Care for ports, central lines, and implanted lines
• Assist with procedures: thoracentesis, paracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, and central venous catheter placement
• Implement neutropenic precautions and monitor for sepsis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
• Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
