Cylindrical Grinding Specialist & Precision Lathe Machinist

Step into a shop where tight tolerances and intricate geometries are everyday work. We’re hiring for two impact roles: OD/ID Grinding Specialists and Precision Lathe Machinists. You’ll contribute to challenging builds, collaborate with seasoned pros, and leverage both modern and legacy equipment in an air-conditioned facility.

A day in the life

OD/ID Grinding Specialist — You’ll own setups and production on cylindrical grinders, ensuring surface finish and size control across complex parts. Choose from:

• 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM (10% night differential)

Precision Lathe Machinist — You’ll independently set up, program, calculate offsets, and run your own work on the lathe, taking components from print to finished part. A 10% night shift differential applies where eligible.

Compensation & Schedule

• OD/ID grinding pay: up to ~$40/hr for master-class talent
• Lathe pay: can stretch to ~$40/hr for elite, aerospace/gear-level skill
• $100K+/year potential driven by consistent overtime
• Average ~55 hours/week with heavy OT
• 2–3 shorter Saturday shifts per month (about 6 hours each)
• 10% night shift differential
• Frequent raises per union contract

What you bring

For OD/ID Grinding

• Deep OD/ID grinding expertise (please make this prominent on your resume)
• Background in a precision machining environment
• Aerospace or gear industry experience preferred
• Strong consideration for candidates from high-precision contract/job shops

For Precision Lathe Machining

• Proven ability to perform independent setups
• Capability to program, perform calculations, and run your own setups
• Read prints and manufacture parts from raw stock
• Job-shop experience with frequent changeovers

Ideal background (either role)

• Aerospace or gear manufacturing exposure
• High-precision contract machining experience
• Strong setup, troubleshooting, and blueprint-reading skills
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, demanding job-shop environment
