Job Description
As an Electromechanical Technician, you will report to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor and perform maintenance tasks to ensure the high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of products. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are integral to our culture.
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe machine operation.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and technical data.
- Work on motors, contractors, and relays using a multimeter to verify component functionality.
- Operate advanced shop equipment such as bandsaws, mills, and lathes.
- Maintain and repair Chillers, Process pumps, compressors, ink pumps, and glue pumps.
- Analyze and resolve all mechanical and electrical issues related to the equipment.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of electrical controls/PLCs, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
- Perform preventative, predictive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration on manufacturing process equipment with minimal downtime.
- Diagnose the root cause of problems with production equipment to determine the best solution: electrical or mechanical.
- Document parts used and repairs completed in the CMMS and assist in maintaining an organized parts room.
- Participate in Performance System activities such as 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, and Near Misses.
- Ensure regular, consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment where required.
- Ensure proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical areas.
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician or Electro-mechanical role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in an industrial environment or military background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Preferred industry experience with blown films, sheet extruders, printing, lamination, and slitting.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls is a plus.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that require overtime, including weekends.

Work Environment
Work in a 500,000 sq. ft. facility where safety is a top priority. The facility is extremely clean and well-organized, adhering to GMP standards. Required safety gear includes safety shoes, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Departments include Print, Lamination, Slitting, Warehouse, and Maintenance. The workforce is strong and tenured, with recent investments in new machinery and additional capital expenditures planned. Updated breakrooms feature a new self-serve vending process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.20 - $42.88/hr.
