The Community Engagement Department is seeking an imaginative and detail-oriented Communications Associate - Graphic Design and Content Specialist. Under the direction of the Communications Supervisor, this position will produce content and deliverables for social media, signage, the website, and other internal and external publications. Successful candidates will transform the library's vision into compelling print and digital content, handle concurrent marketing campaigns, and support other departments in launching new collections and patron services, and telling the library's story in a visually enticing way. This position will also connect with the community through weekly shifts at the adult or youth reference desks.

Ideal candidates will:

• Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in expanding skills across platforms, strategies, workflows, and tools as the role evolves.
• Collaborate on content strategy, ensuring that visual elements align with overall messaging and communication goals.
• Keep the end-user in mind, ensuring that designs align with the needs and preferences of the target audience.
• Have familiarity with social media platforms, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, WordPress and other web and graphic design-related software.
• Stay curious and open to learning new techniques and systems that support both. communication efforts and broader library services.

18 hours a week, Monday through Friday, plus additional hours on a weekend rotation, for a total average of 21 hours per week. Schedule includes day, evening, and weekend hours. Flexibility in scheduling is a must due to programming and outreach responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 12:30 - 5:30p, Thursday: 4:30 - 9:00p

Additionally one Saturday 9:15a - 5p and one Sunday 12:45 - 5p shift on an offset 4-week rotation.
