Senior Pricing Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst for a direct hire opportunity in Itasca, IL, supporting commercial pricing strategy within the logistics and transportation industry. This role is ideal for a commercially minded pricing professional who enjoys analyzing transportation costs, partnering with sales and operations, and improving processes that support profitable business growth. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can guide and mentor pricing analysts without direct reporting responsibility. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Billing, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership, making this a highly visible role with strong cross-functional impact. Key Responsibilities - Lead day-to-day commercial pricing activity by coaching, guiding, and supporting pricing analysts while promoting consistency and best practices.- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies that support profitability and business growth.
- Prepare, analyze, and review complex pricing proposals for domestic and international transportation services.
- Evaluate transportation costs, market trends, customer requirements, and vendor rates to build accurate pricing models.
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes through automation, analytics tools, AI, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies and collaborate with internal departments on commercial, billing, vendor, and customer-related issues. Compensation and Benefits - Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Develop competitive pricing strategies for logistics and transportation services.- Prepare and review complex domestic and international transportation pricing proposals.
- Analyze costs, market trends, customer requirements, and vendor rates to support pricing decisions.
- Build reports, dashboards, KPIs, and process improvements that support commercial performance. - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of pricing, commercial, transportation, logistics, or related analytical experience.
- Strong understanding of profitability, customer needs, operational capabilities, and transportation cost drivers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
- Ability to influence others, provide coaching, support team development, and promote best practices.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make sound recommendations and support business decisions. Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience as a team lead, project lead, mentor, or informal leader.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, AI tools, or other analytics platforms.
- Experience improving business processes, implementing new technologies, or supporting automation initiatives.
- Experience assisting with vendor negotiations for transportation rates.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
