Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00, based on experience.

A personal car or transportation is required for this role which will work out of offices in both Lisle and Rosemont, IL, three days per week.

Overview:
The Communications Manager reports to the Director and supports the project team with managing various communications efforts. This includes diverse work for clientele in the fields of transportation and engineering. The Manager works to complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner, including the preparation of engineering and transportation-focused communication documents and presentations, internal and external communications, assistance with the execution of various reports, workshops and other applicable items and willingness to complete (and at some point own) day-to-day tasks.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support and manage concurrent projects from inception to execution
• Support the project team and engineers in communicating highly technical and engineering information across multiple platforms to a multitude of audiences
• Support the development of communications for technical reports and manuals, presentations, newsletters and print materials
• Support outreach for and execution of large-scale events and technical workshops to output client updates to engineers, stakeholders and industry partners
• Proof and edit a wide range of deliverables, including technical reports and manuals, presentations, email and meeting correspondence and other deliverables deemed appropriate for the project
• Lead open communication with team members and on projects, including the opportunity to support meetings (both internally and externally)
• Communicate and coordinate with internal team members to share responsibilities and collaborate to execute team deliverables and projects
• Research, understand and communicate technical issues
• Develop correspondence and updates to project deliverables and coordinate with Director on approvals

Position Qualifications:

• 3 + years of relevant professional experience
• Experience supporting and developing communications related to transportation
• Ability to support project goals, develop plans to reach those goals and provide direction to team members to keep the project moving forward
• Interest in and understanding of Chicago-area transportation news
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
• Strong organization ability and multi-tasking skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Strong drafting and editing ability with close attention to detail
• A positive and resourceful attitude with an ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to support senior staff with in-person and virtual meetings (both internally and with clients)
• Must have reliable personal transportation and be willing to travel, as needed, to offices in Lisle and Rosemont, Illinois
