Electro Mechanic Technician

⚡ NOW HIRING: Electro Mechanic – Nights Elk Grove, IL $36.34–$39.85/hr + $2/hr Night Shift Differential 12-Hour Continental Night Shift | Every Other Weekend Off

We’re hiring a skilled Electro Mechanic to support advanced manufacturing operations on the night shift. This is a hands-on role for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting, autonomy, and keeping high-speed equipment running safely and efficiently.

Schedule

• 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM

• 12-hour continental shift (3 days one week / 4 days the next)

• Off every other weekend

• Overtime as needed

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled systems

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints

• Diagnose root causes and determine best electrical or mechanical solutions

• Work on motors, contactors, relays, and verify functionality using a multimeter

• Maintain and repair chillers, compressors, process pumps, ink pumps, and glue pumps

• Operate advanced shop equipment (mills, lathes, band saws)

• Ensure safe operation of all production and facility equipment

• Document repairs and parts usage in CMMS

• Support spare parts inventory and parts room organization

• Follow all LOTO, PPE, and safety procedures

• Participate in continuous improvement and performance initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Industrial manufacturing or military maintenance experience

• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems

• Preferred experience with flexible packaging equipment:
  • Blown film, sheet extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting

• Forklift experience a plus

• Ability to work independently on nights and manage multiple priorities

• Comfortable with physical work including lifts, ladders, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow plant safety rules including LOTO and safe machine operation.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications and technical data.

• Ability to work on motors, contractors and relays with a multimeter to verify component functionality.

• Ability to work on advanced shop equipment such as bandsaws, mills and lathes.

• Must be able to work on Chillers, Process pumps, compressors, ink pumps and Glue pumps.

• Analyze and resolve all mechanical, electrical issues related to the equipment.

• Demonstrate solid knowledge of electrical controls/PLCs including troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.

• Responsible for maintaining all manufacturing process equipment by performing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, routine repairs and calibration with minimal down time.

• Perform all duties in a safe, professional and efficient manner.

• Diagnose root cause of problems with production equipment to determine best solution: electrical or mechanical.

• Document parts used, and repairs completed in the CMMS. Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts and parts room is organized. Perform necessary repairs, preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance on plant production equipment and facilities equipmen
