CAD Designer

We are a family-owned manufacturing leader, seeking a CAD Designer to join our team in Winnebago County, IL. This is a new position for our company, and the primary focus of this role is creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and 3D models to support product design, manufacturing, and engineering initiatives. This role collaborates closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure accurate documentation and efficient product development. Extremely stable and expanding company with huge growth potential.

Requirements:

- Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or similar field with 3–5 years of CAD design experience, or 5+ years working in an engineering design environment

- 3+ years of experience creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks

- 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T standards such as ANSI Y14.1 and Y14.5

- 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing documentation, including BOMs, routings, or engineering change processes

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software to support engineering and manufacturing initiatives

- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including drawings, inspection sheets, BOMs, and routings

- Modify existing designs or create new models to support custom customer orders and engineering changes

- Support the engineering change process by generating ECNs, reviewing ECRs, and implementing design updates
