Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Compensation: Hourly (Competitive / Based on Experience)

We provide comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detoxification support, dual diagnosis care, individual counseling, group therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Position Summary
Garfield Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or qualified psychiatric clinician to join our team on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week). This provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, medication management, and treatment planning for individuals receiving substance use and co-occurring mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new and existing clients
- Diagnose mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with Illinois regulations
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with counseling and MAT teams
- Monitor client progress, medication adherence, and symptom stabilization
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the EHR
- Coordinate care with counselors, case managers, nurses, and medical staff
- Participate in treatment team meetings and quality improvement efforts
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
Qualifications
Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Illinois or qualified psychiatric provider eligible to practice in Illinois- DEA registration and prescriptive authority preferred
- Experience working in addiction medicine, MAT, community mental health, or dual diagnosis settings strongly preferred
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practice
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
