Project Manager (Oakbrook Terrace)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager with experience in utility or civil construction projects. This role will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget while supporting financial forecasting and contract evaluation. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, the ability to interpret civil construction plans, and experience working within utility environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee 10–12 active projects across utility or civil construction environments
• Review and interpret civil construction drawings and plans to ensure project accuracy and execution
• Perform monthly financial forecasting , including cash flow projections and budget tracking
• Evaluate and review contract proposals and bid documents for accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
• Conduct field walkdowns and site visits across the West-Suburban region as required
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

• 3+ years of Project Management experience
• Experience in utility (electric, gas, or water), civil construction, or engineering supporting utility installation/relocation projects
• Proven experience reviewing contracts, proposals, and bid documents
• Experience preparing project financial forecasts , including monthly cash flows
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Willingness to travel frequently for field visits across the West-Suburban region

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with utility relocation projects
• Background working with a utility company, construction firm, or engineering firm
• PMP certification and/or PE license (nice to have, not required)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical field, or Project Management

Location & Travel Requirements

• Projects located in the West-Suburban region (Rockford, Elgin, Freeport, Dekalb, Aurora, Crystal Lake, etc.)
• Candidates must be comfortable with regular travel for site visits and field walkdowns several times per month
