Offtake Advisory VP

We are seeking a dynamic Vice President to join our Offtake Advisory Team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our clients, which include corporate organizations in high-emission sectors such as oil, gas, petrochemicals, and food and beverage. These clients are focused on setting and achieving sustainability goals through various transactions, including procuring renewable energy certificates, contracting for renewable natural gas, and engaging in ownership stakes or tax credit participation in renewable energy projects.

Additionally, you will work with developer clients who are advancing projects in wind, solar, storage, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and other sustainable solutions. These clients seek offtake agreements for financing and asset sales, and may require assistance in restructuring existing agreements.

As the VP, you will lead the creation of pitch materials and manage a team of junior bankers in producing mandate materials, including financial models and client presentations. You will have the opportunity to present detailed materials to senior bankers and clients, collaborating with them to develop and execute the Offtake Advisory Practice strategy for North America, Europe, and Asia. You will also mentor junior team members, guiding them in their professional development.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other practice areas, such as low carbon molecules, financing (debt and tax credits), and M&A teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop innovative marketing materials and strategies for client presentations.
Create tactical execution plans tailored to targeted clients.
Generate original content for presentations based on thorough research and analysis.
Manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on behalf of corporate clients and assist developer clients with terms, conditions, and pricing.
Analyze offtake options related to financing assets for developers and assess long-term risks and benefits for achieving sustainability goals.
Negotiate and finalize definitive documents for Offtake, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), virtual PPAs, financial products, and other agreements.
Provide market insights and offtake assessments to new market entrants during asset sales and acquisition processes.
Support carbon reduction and energy transition advisory initiatives across power and low carbon molecules.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key personnel in targeted client organizations, including sustainability executives and business leaders.
Share market intelligence and insights with leadership and strategic team members.
Collaborate effectively with client relationship managers, valuation and analytics experts, project finance, legal, and implementation teams.
Lead and inspire a motivated team of professionals, fostering a results-driven culture.
Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field, with strong academic performance.
5+ years of experience in energy project development, finance, trading, origination, or sales and marketing.
In-depth knowledge of the power and renewable energy market dynamics, with experience in competitive wholesale electricity markets such as ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, and Alberta.
Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing power and/or renewable energy deals.
Ability to assess risks and benefits in offtake structures, along with experience working with financial models and stochastic modeling.
Strong personal relationships and reputation within the power and renewable energy industry.
Experience in a commercial negotiation environment, demonstrating customer-focused management, negotiation, influencing, and analytical skills.
Awareness of evolving technologies, regulations, and trends that impact the renewable energy sector.
Strong leadership, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to new tasks and circumstances in a dynamic environment.
Proven analytical reasoning, including the ability to translate concepts into financial models and engage in creative problem-solving.
