Lawn Sprinkler/Irrigation Technician
Irrigation Technician Reports to:
Specialty Services Manager
Summary:

At Martin John the Irrigation Technician is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. Job responsibilities also include utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.Complete installation of irrigation systems and maintenance and repair of irrigation systems.

Job Duties:
- Responsible for starting up repairing and shutting down of sprinkler/irrigation systems including pipe, valves, wiring, clocks and all associated fittings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with landscape constructions
Order materials as needed for the upcoming job requests Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks Drive tool trucks and trailers to and from job sites Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and manual lifting Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain inventories , shop, and equipment Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment Follow directions from Landscape Foreman and Construction Manager Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times and follow all safety practices as outlined by company Comply with all company policies and regulations Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements:
- Completion of college, vocational, or technical training and or 2 years of field experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Plant knowledge and identification, and experience in plant health care Competent in the use of power tools and equipment (trenchers, skid steer, air compressor, amp meters, drills, etc.) Basic measurement and calculation skills Ability to follow safe working procedures Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail Good analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team Speak, read, and write English Must possess a valid driver’s license
Work Conditions:
Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift Ability to work in a fast paced environment Requires good manual dexterity Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold Flexible working hours and occasional weekend work
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
