Head of Maintenance (Aurora)
We are recruiting for a Maintenance/Facilities Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for all maintenance and facilities activities across a multi-shift food production campus and regional facilities portfolio, accountable for maximizing equipment reliability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a high-performance maintenance organization that supports business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead maintenance strategy, including preventive and predictive programs, to optimize equipment uptime, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, OSHA, EPA, and all applicable food safety and regulatory standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and leadership to align maintenance performance with production goals and business priorities. Oversee facilities, critical utilities, and vendor partnerships; manage contracts, procurement, and spare parts strategies
- Lead root cause analysis, reliability initiatives, and process improvements to reduce downtime and drive efficiency
- Manage maintenance budgets, capital planning, and execution of equipment upgrades and facility projects
- Provide leadership response for critical equipment and facility issues in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing multi-shift maintenance and facilities team; drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Candidates should possess
- Maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (food or regulated industry preferred) at a Managerial level, multiple facilities oversight a plus
- Strong background in reliability, CMMS systems (SAP or equivalent), and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and execute capital projects
- Working knowledge of regulatory and safety standards in industrial operations
