Maintenance Mechanic
Family-run company based in the Chicago West Suburbs that specializes in the stainless steel industry has immediate full-time needs for Maintenance Mechanics and/or Skilled Maintenance Workers.
This is a 2nd shift opportunity (530 pm - 5 am) that will initially train on 1st. Although flexible scheduling may also be provided. Significant OT potential comes with the opportunity.
Qualified candidates will help to maintain and repair steel processing machinery & associated industrial equipment. Accordingly, individuals should be familiar with low voltage control systems, 480 volt 3-phase systems and mechanical systems.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Repair, install and adjust industrial machinery as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair/replace defective equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Previous experience should include:
- Machinery repair or other related fields.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform electrical testing & analyze to find and isolate trouble and to help to determine the/an appropriate repair.
- General knowledge & familiarity with PLC’s and VFD’s.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
