Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Kforce has a client seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer - Facility to oversee engineering operations within a data center environment. This role involves managing risk, performing corrective and preventative maintenance on critical infrastructure, coordinating with vendors, and reporting on operational metrics. Responsibilities:

• Manage on-site shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all work aligns with established procedures and standards
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct operational analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance
• Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Operate and manage both routine and emergency services for critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems
• Support the design and build-out of new facilities as needed
• Participate in initiatives aimed at improving facility efficiency
• Oversee asset and inventory management
• Assist with recruiting efforts
• Ensure delivery of high-quality service and fulfillment of customer requirements
• Bachelor's degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) degree and relevant experience
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience
• 0-2 years of management experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
• 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering experience
• 0-2 years of Data Center Management experience
• Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
