Physical Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care Hospital, Level II Trauma Center
• Location: Decatur, Illinois 62526
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour shifts (09:00 – 17:30), Monday–Friday with every third weekend required
• Hours per Week: 40
• Guaranteed Hours: Refer to assignment details
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2150-$2200
• Charting System: Cerner (experience preferred)
• Parking: Free with permit

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient physical therapy experience in acute care or rehabilitation hospital
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Experience with diverse patient populations: cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, women's health
• Proficiency in assessment, documentation, and use of adaptive/assistive devices and equipment
• Ability to float to multiple hospital units as needed
• Weekend availability (every third weekend required)
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience in teaching hospital and Level II trauma center preferred

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical therapy services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Perform thorough patient assessments, create individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
• Accurately document evaluations, progress notes, reassessments, and discharge plans
• Utilize equipment and modalities such as gait belts, Hoyer lifts, TENS, ultrasound, prosthetics, and specialty beds
• Treat a variety of diagnoses including stroke, COPD, MI, CHF, orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: nursing, respiratory therapy, social services, pharmacy
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, safety, and rehabilitation goals
• Float to other units within the hospital as needed to support patient care
