Paralegal
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
- Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
- Knowledge of billing
- Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles
- Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm’s document Management software
- Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial
- Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court
- Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts
- File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council
- Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a civil litigation and trial Paralegal.
Benefits
This role offers an hourly salary and bonus opportunity. The hourly salary range for this position is $26.00 to $38.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
