Service Helper

Position Identification:

Non-Exempt

Reports to: Service Superintendent

Position Summary:

The basic function of the Helper is to perform a variety of duties within the Service Department, Warehouse and or on construction projects, transferring from one task to another as directed.

Job Functions:

• Handle movement of products throughout the shop or construction site

• Assist manager with daily work activities

• Maintain, repair and adjust tool, machines and equipment

• Maintain and secure work tools and work area

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

• High school graduate

• 1 year of experience

• Ability to lift 75 lbs

• Ability to perform physical outdoor labor

• Ability to do general math

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

Knowledge of roofing systems and how to apply coatings, sealant, metal, etc. desired but not a must.

Familiar with OSHA standards.

Occupational Health and Safety:

• Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control

• Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety

• Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace

Working Conditions:

Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions.

Physical Effort: Walking, turning, stooping and reaching for and carrying materials, stepping over and around obstacles, climbing ladders and scaffolding. Must hear well enough to understand oral directions. Must see to read forms, labels, directions, prints, and specifications. Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Travel: Yes (Minimal)

Hours: Subject to overtime
