Position Summary:
Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a child watch setting. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains and updates schedules.
- Creates supply lists.
- Ensures childcare rooms are clean and sanitized and cleaning supplies are available.
- Updates director on any staffing or childcare incidents
- Supervises the children, playroom, and all activities.
- Maintains program site and equipment and adheres to standards including safety and cleanliness.
- Attending staff meetings and training.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Maintains required program records.
- Maintains positive relations and communication with children, parents, and other staff.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- High school graduate or volunteer experience.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 60 days of hire date.
- At least 17 years of age
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of settings. Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
