Materials Control Manager

The Materials Control Manager oversees and manages inventory control operations for the organization, ensuring the accurate tracking and maintenance of inventory levels and data across the plant. By leading a team and implementing best practices in inventory management, the Materials Control Manager contributes to operational efficiency and supports the overall goals of the organization. - Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000
- Work Location: Mundelein, Illinois
Key Responsibilities - Determine material quantities for master production scheduling to meet operational needs.
- Oversee and administer cycle counts to ensure accurate ordering and inventory levels, fulfilling essential operational needs.
- Proactively resolve all inventory-related supply issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Review trends in purchasing, materials management, suppliers, and storage to improve inventory operations and optimize efficiency.
- Support financial cost containment efforts by minimizing inventory loss, conducting root-cause analyses, and managing turnover rates and space requirements.
- Represent the organization's inventory needs in developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring reliable material supply.
- Supervise and mentor materials control staff, providing training and guidance to enhance performance, efficiency, and professional development.
- Utilize ERP systems for accurate inventory data management and reporting.
- Work with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure alignment of materials supply.
- Manage inbound inventory processes, ensuring accurate receipt and reconciliation of materials.
- Assist in developing and implementing new inventory management procedures and policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Strong leadership abilities to guide and develop team members.
- Ability to make sound judgement calls and innovate creative solutions for problems that may arise.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible and responsive in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment, adjusting priorities as needed.
- Familiarity with JDE or other ERP systems to enhance operational efficiency and data management.
- Proficient in basic math skills for accurate calculations related to inventory management and reporting.
Qualifications Required - Education: Bachelor's
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience with inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred - Certifications: Powered industrial equipment certification preferred.
