Gordon Ramsay Burger brings Michelin-starred Chef Gordon Ramsay’s passion for elevated comfort food to the heart of Chicago. Known for its bold flavors, signature burgers, and unforgettable dining experiences, the brand combines high energy with world-class hospitality in a stylish, welcoming environment.
We are seeking a driven, experienced, and hands-on Sous Chef to join our leadership team. Acting as second in command, you will support the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations while upholding the Gordon Ramsay standard of excellence. This role requires a balance of creativity, leadership, and operational discipline.
Requirements
The Sous Chef must have:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, premium restaurant.
Strong leadership and organizational skills to support and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
Deep knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and seasonal menu execution.
Ability to follow and enforce the Executive Chef’s direction with precision and consistency.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with both BOH and FOH teams.
A passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the drive to exceed guest expectations.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Executive Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation.
Supervise, train, and mentor the kitchen team, fostering engagement, development, and retention.
Enforce and maintain full compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
Assist with supply chain management, inventory, and stock control to meet company standards.
Contribute to achieving food cost targets and overall P&L goals.
Step into leadership as acting head of kitchen operations in the Executive Chef’s absence.
Help cultivate a positive, team-oriented, and professional kitchen culture.
