Operations Intern
Supervisor: Operations Leadership
Compensation: $20-21/hour
Internship Description :
National Safety Apparel, located in Chicago, IL is looking for students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Management, or Communications with an interest in learning end to end operations driven through process and procedure. This internship is providing a unique opportunity in participating in cross-functional job rotations in various areas of the operations with a major project for our operation.
Responsibilities:
- This position will rotate through temporary assignments to gain a wide range of understanding of Chicago Operations with special projects identified by Operations Leadership
- The day-to day duties will be to assist in analyzing production, inventory requirements, and quality control
- Engage and lead assign projects to support tram, department, and plant initiatives of rapid continuous improvement
- Assist in implementing new systems and processes that track and optimize production
- Collaborate on planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout to improve process efficiency
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or Communications or other related degrees
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, high-performing work environment
- Ability to perform all duties required in both office and manufacturing environments
- Cross-cultural experience is a plus
- Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Ability to make logical and sound decisions and ability to know when to act independently and when to seek assistance
- Strong Communication: Ability to express oneself verbally and in writing, and listen well
- Actively identifying new areas for learning and applying newly gained knowledge/skill on the job
- Teamwork and Collaboration, requesting input from others and involving others in issues which may affect them
- Physical demands are minimal beyond the ability to spend time on your feet on a plant floor, as well as being able to occasionally lift 30lbs
