Job Description

This role operates and monitors production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient operations. The Linear Operator loads materials, performs routine inspections, documents production and quality results, and supports overall production flow with a strong focus on accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Load raw materials into machines and safely remove finished products from the line.
  • Perform routine quality inspections and measurements on parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Follow production schedules and consistently meet daily output goals.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and promptly report maintenance concerns for more complex problems.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist with material handling, including moving materials and products as needed.
  • Support other production duties as required to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Essential Skills

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for minor machine issues.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working on the production floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to consistent attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using hand tools in a production or industrial environment.
  • Experience in production or machine operating environments.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing production needs.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates a fast-paced production environment. You will work primarily on production lines using industrial machinery, hand tools, and related equipment. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with overtime opportunities available as business needs require. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working around moving machinery and production materials. Safety procedures are strictly enforced, and maintaining a clean and organized work area is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
