Job Description

Job Type: Full-time

Job Title: Estimator

Education: GED Required

Location: Southwest Chicago Suburbs.

• Travel to job site locations in the Chicago area may be required

Duties include:

• Complete detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for drywall and light gauge framing projects including cold-formed metal framing using QuickBid and On-Screen Takeoff
• Review and summarize scope of work and assemble pricing templates
• Solicit and review subcontractor proposals
• Solicit material pricing
• Verify pricing and production data
• Maintain Pricing and Production rate database
• Assemble final bid forms and pricing

Skills/Qualifications:

• Strong math and organizational skills
• Ability to read, understand, and summarize construction documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with QuickBid and On-Screen Takeoff estimating software or similar system is required
• Ability to work under deadlines with emphasis on follow-up
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in the Chicago area commercial construction industry is strongly preferred
• Experience with the public bidding process is strongly preferred

Salary: $60,000-$110,000, negotiable based on experience
