Department Overview

The Commercial Product & Platform team delivers global technology products and platforms that delight customers and empower crews to operate restaurants reliably and efficiently. We focus on innovation, scalability, and operational excellence across all markets.

The Manager, Engineering Tech Lead (Software Releases) plays a critical role in ensuring smooth, high-quality global software releases for Digital Menu Boards (DMB). This position partners closely with Technical Product Management leadership and oversees release planning, execution, and governance. The Tech Lead will drive operational excellence, manage vendor performance, and ensure compliance with McDonald's standards.

Responsibilities

• Release Planning & Execution:

• Develop and manage global release schedules across multiple markets.

• Coordinate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure deployment readiness.

Governance & Quality Assurance:

• Enforce compliance with release governance, security, and quality standards.

• Conduct release readiness reviews and ensure stakeholder alignment.

Risk & Dependency Management:

• Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies impacting releases.

Vendor Management:

• Lead and monitor external vendor squads to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables aligned with McDonald's standards.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive process optimization and adoption of release automation tools.

• Champion best practices for release management and deployment methodologies.

Qualifications

• + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in release management, project management, or related roles.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and deployment methodologies.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience managing global technology projects.

Preferred:

• PMP or Agile certification.

• Familiarity with CMS platforms and release automation tools.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $127,332.00 - $159,165.00 per year
