Senior Internal Communications Manager
LaSalle Network has partnered with a mission-driven organization based in downtown Chicago. This organization is committed to advancing meaningful change through community impact, equity, and innovation. With a collaborative culture and a strong internal communications function, they are looking to add a skilled Internal Communications Manager to their growing team.
This Manager of Internal Communications will lead and execute day-to-day internal communications efforts. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Internal Communications, this person will be responsible for managing core communications channels, maintaining editorial calendars, producing compelling employee content, and partnering across internal teams including People & Culture, Operations, and Finance.
This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role that requires someone who brings strong writing skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to proactively manage projects. The ideal Internal Communications Manager will have a passion for internal communications and thrive in mission-driven, matrixed environments.
Internal Communications Manager Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure communication deliverables align with organizational priorities and tone
- Translate complex information into clear, digestible updates for staff and leadership
- Coordinate projects and timelines, and keep communication plans on track
- Act as a thought partner to middle management, helping shape messaging that builds engagement and clarity
- Maintain calm and professionalism when navigating sensitive internal matters or competing priorities
- Demonstrated experience in internal communications (not PR/external focused)
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Experience managing core internal comms channels
- Working knowledge of intranet platforms (Unily a plus)
- Familiarity with editorial planning and internal content calendars
- Some graphic design skills (low to medium proficiency)
- Project management capabilities and comfort with cross-functional collaboration
