Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of three years of nursing experience.
Details
- Emergency Department setting in an acute care hospital environment
- Night shift schedule: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours, with expectation to be onsite within one hour
- A 2-week nights rotation is required of all travelers
- Block scheduling is not available
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- No floating requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- TNCC highly preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Executes nursing interventions and patient care procedures specific to emergency department practice
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to support the full care team
- Upholds patient and staff safety standards by adhering to safety protocols and reporting or correcting hazards
- Collaborates effectively with staff, visitors, and families to promote a positive care environment
- TNCC certification is highly preferred for this role
- Requested time off (RTO) not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must either convert to a permanent role or take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
