Rotary Transfer CNC Machining Specialist

A day in this role

At Anderson Fittings— a contract manufacturer of brass fittings for plumbing and industrial applications— you’ll oversee two automated high speed rotary transfer machining centers from start to finish. Your shift begins by checking fluid levels, verifying tooling, and loading brass forgings. As parts run, you’ll dial in offsets, verify dimensions with micrometers and calipers, interface with SPC software, and keep the cells clean and humming. You’ll remove chips, correct tooling issues on the fly, and document output so every part meets our quality standards.

Schedule & training

Training begins on day shift, followed by a move to 3rd shift generally within 3–5 weeks. 3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am

What you’ll do

• Own the setup and operation of two rotary transfer machine centers, including programming, tool changes, offsets, and in-process adjustments.
• Run regular quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and other gages; use computer SPC software to track and control variation.
• Diagnose and correct tooling issues to maintain part quality and takt time.
• Monitor and maintain fluid levels; perform light daily preventive maintenance.
• Remove and process chips; clean machines as needed to ensure reliability.
• Load forgings and manage production to the specified machining rates.
• Record daily output and note issues encountered during the shift.
• Maintain housekeeping and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Complete other assignments as requested.

What you bring

• Ability to work independently and a strong mechanical aptitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with robot-loaded equipment (preferred).
• Computer and machine control knowledge (preferred).
• Comfort with precision measuring devices: micrometers, calipers, bore mics, etc.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC experience in close-tolerance machining, or related coursework in Precision Machine Technology or Mechanical Production Technology.

Physical requirements

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and periodically between 20–40 lbs.
