ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: ICU (Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU; may float to Med-Surg units as needed)
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/02/2025 – End: 12/02/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• On-Site Position

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting (critical care nursing experience preferred)
• Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no exemptions for COVID-19; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
• Ability to float between ICU units and Med-Surg units as needed
• Strong compliance and responsiveness to deadlines

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to critically ill adults across multiple ICU specialties
• Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and Med-Surg units as required
• Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and provide advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
• Perform arterial and central line management, interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, and manage multi-system organ failure
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system
• Adhere to infection control and isolation protocols to ensure patient and staff safety
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, especially when floated outside primary competency
