HR Generalist
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an HR Generalist to support their multi-state, multi-location workforce. This is a highly tactical, hands-on HR role focused on high-volume onboarding, employee relations investigations, leave administration, and ongoing HR operations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can manage heavy workloads during peak seasons, and is comfortable supporting field-based teams across multiple states.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the point of contact for employee relations issues and conduct thorough investigations into employee concerns.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues, including conducting thorough internal investigations.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the department's efficiency and services.
- Maintain employee records, ensuring the completion and accuracy of hiring information, pay rates, and status changes.
- Process new hires and terminations by reviewing approved field submissions.
- Provide HR support on acquisitions related to onboarding and integration of employees.
- Administer and manage all aspects of employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, and personal leaves.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and coordinate with Safety on Workers Comp leaves.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a closely related field.
- SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
- UKG experience strongly preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel about 15-25%.
- 3+ of HR experience with a substantial focus on employee relations, conducting internal investigations, and leave administration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and possess strong data analytical capabilities for effective data management and report generation.
- Strong knowledge of federal/state employment laws (including CA preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple, diverse tasks with minimal supervision.
