Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting efficient and compliant payroll operations. This role is responsible for processing multiple payroll cycles, administering garnishments, and supporting payroll reporting and reconciliation activities.

You will partner closely with internal teams across the organization to resolve payroll inquiries, maintain payroll data integrity, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. This is a remote position but you need to reside in Illinois.

salary: $28 - $30 per hour

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule.

• Monitor payroll data to ensure compliance with established pay guidelines, procedures, and company policies.

• Provide frontline support for payroll and timekeeping inquiries by researching and resolving questions from employees and internal partners.

• Maintain documentation of payroll processes, procedures, and pay guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.

• Administer payroll garnishments, ensuring proper prioritization and timely remittance for child support, levies, and other deductions in accordance with applicable laws.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating payroll processes and recommending efficiency enhancements.

• Support payroll integration activities for acquisitions, including system setup, testing, training, and process alignment.

• Contribute to payroll-related projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
• Three or more years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Proficiency in Workday, Outlook and Excel is required
