Step Into a Day on the Shop Floor

When you arrive at our Elk Grove Village precision facility, you grab the morning job packet, review detailed prints, and plan your setups. Before the first spindle turns, you choose the right fixtures for a Bridgeport vertical mill, prep the grinder, and verify tolerances with micrometers and calipers. Through the day you move seamlessly from building new tooling to repairing dies, collaborating with engineers to improve performance and uptime—always keeping safety, 5S, and documentation front and center.

What You’ll Do

• Independently set up and operate manual milling and grinding equipment to produce and service precision tooling and dies.
• Translate blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets into accurate machining steps.
• Inspect work using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and refine tooling to protect part quality and keep production moving.
• Partner with engineers and shop leadership to refine processes and enhance tooling performance.
• Uphold safety practices, maintain 5S, and complete required documentation.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on Tool and Die Maker experience.
• Strong manual milling and grinding abilities, including independent setups.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Advanced use of precision measurement tools and inspection methods.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a practical, problem-solving mindset.

Nice to Have

• Tool and die design experience; CAD/CAM exposure is a plus.
• Background in metal stamping, forming, or die repair.
• Familiarity with ISO or AS9100D quality standards.
• CNC milling experience to complement manual machining.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
