Job Summary

Assist in the development, maintenance, and analyses of vital statistics, health indicators, risk factors, and service utilization data using Statistical Analysis System Software Suite (SAS), Excel, and other analytical products. Provide partnering agencies with death data retrieval garnered from the Bureau/Department's digital case management system and any necessary death-related statistical analyses examined and requested by County facilities. Participate with outside agencies in the identification of behaviors associated with fatalities. Consult other staff and leadership for more complex issues and challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health/Social Science, or a
  
  

directly related field AND

• Two (2) years of assessment, planning, evaluation, survey methodology, or directly related experience
• OR-
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.

• Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics

• Knowledge of microbiology, infectious disease epidemiology, and basic statistics.
• Knowledge of computer software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Access.
• Knowledge of Statistical Analysis System Software.
• Skill in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work with partnering agencies on data retrieval garnered from the Bureau/Department's digital case management system.
• Ability to provide technical assistance in the development of data collection and analysis of health status and service utilization.
• Ability to function in highly emotional and stressful situations
  
  

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
