CNC Swiss Setup Technician

Position Summary

Murphy Machine Products (MMP) is seeking a CNC Swiss Setup Technician for our Wood Dale IL location .The CNC Swiss Setup Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of precision parts. This position requires a strong understanding of CNC Swiss machines a commitment to quality and exceptional troubleshooting skills. The primary responsibility is to set up and operate CNC Swiss machines to produce high-quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Thursdayfrom 6:00am-4:30pm (OR) Monday thru Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm. The pay range for this role is between $26.00-$32.00/hr. depending on experience*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Setup CNC Swiss following SMED processes.
  • STAR SR20RII SR20RIII SR20J SR32J SR38 and CITIZEN M32
• Troubleshoot machine and program issues.
• Update work instructions to current tooling.
• Produce and measure parts per blueprint following Quality Plans.
• Work with operators when handing off machine
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized and ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Experience Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in CNC Swiss machine setup and operation.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to program CNC Swiss machines using CAM software (Park Maker).
• Able to operate a manual CMM.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
